Glenn Matecun is a Michigan estate planning and elder care attorney, helping families plan for life, deal with death, resolve conflict, protect assets and preserve a lasting legacy. He has been an attorney since 1989 and has offices in Livingston and Macomb Counties. Glenn handles legal matters throughout the State of Michigan.
Glenn’s law practice focuses on legal issues that affect seniors and their families. He has helped hundreds of families set up wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for financial and medical decisions. Glenn helps protect assets from the devastating costs of nursing homes and other long-term care and has significant experience with qualifying both married couples and single people for Medicaid benefits for long-term care. He is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs and regularly advises clients about Veterans benefits to help pay for the cost of in-home care and assisted living.
Glenn works with other professionals who assist seniors, such as social workers and placement professionals, to make sure that you or your loved ones receive the best care possible while at the same time protecting your life savings.
Glenn graduated from the Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University College of Law) in 1989, where he was a member of the Detroit College of Law Review and graduated with honors (magna cum laude), second in his law school class. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University in 1986.
Glenn is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, WealthCounsel and ElderCounsel (nationwide groups of trust and estate and elder law attorneys and other legal, tax, and business professionals), ElderCare Matters, and the Probate & Estate Planning and Elder Law Sections of the Michigan Bar Association. He is also the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Forum of Estate Planners. Glenn’s continuing education ensures the most sophisticated estate planning and asset protection techniques are always available to the firm’s clients.
Glenn is a sought-after speaker on estate planning, elder law, and Veterans’ issues for businesses, government agencies, professional groups, and trade organizations. He is one of only 18 Certified Elder Law Attorneys in Michigan—out of more than 35,000 attorneys in the state.
Glenn is committed to helping his clients understand that estate planning is not just about dividing property after death, it is about protecting you, your family, and your assets, and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations. Glenn and his wife Teri have three children: Sara, Bryan, and Eric.
