Managing Attorney & Founder
Glenn Matecun is a Michigan estate planning and elder care attorney who has been guiding families through life’s most important decisions since 1989. Based in Howell, Glenn helps clients across Michigan plan for life, navigate the challenges of aging, deal with the legal and emotional aspects of death, resolve family conflicts, protect assets, and preserve a lasting legacy.
Glenn’s work focuses on the unique legal issues that affect seniors and their families. Over the years, he has helped hundreds of families put the right plans in place—wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for financial and medical decisions—so that their wishes are honored and their loved ones are cared for. He is known for helping clients protect their assets from the devastating costs of nursing homes and long-term care, and he has deep experience in qualifying both married couples and single individuals for Medicaid benefits.
As one of only 17 Certified Elder Law Attorneys in Michigan (out of more than 42,000 attorneys in the state), Glenn brings a level of expertise few can match. He is also accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs and frequently advises Veterans on benefits that can help pay for in-home care and assisted living. Glenn works closely with a trusted network of professionals—social workers, care coordinators, and placement specialists—to make sure clients receive the best possible care while protecting their life savings.
Glenn’s credentials reflect his dedication to excellence. He graduated magna cum laude from the Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University College of Law) in 1989, finishing second in his class and serving on the Law Review. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University in 1986. He is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, ElderCare Matters, and the Probate & Estate Planning and Elder Law Sections of the Michigan Bar Association. He also serves as Treasurer and a Board Member of the Michigan Forum of Estate Planners.
A sought-after speaker, Glenn regularly presents on estate planning, elder law, and Veterans’ issues for businesses, professional groups, and community organizations. His ongoing commitment to continuing education ensures his clients have access to the most advanced planning and asset protection strategies available.
For Glenn, estate planning is about far more than dividing property—it’s about protecting you, your family, and your assets while leaving a legacy that reflects your values. Outside the office, Glenn enjoys life with his wife, Teri, and their three children: Sara, Bryan, and Eric.
